The circa 1864 homestead features a large room, the kitchen area, the heart of family life.  The original hearth can be seen with its iron pots still hanging from the arm.  Along the top of the hearth are basic cooking utensils.  Also exhibited in the kitchen are tools, such as a spinning wheel, used by the Acadians for the manufacturing of clothes.
